BUTTERFLIES

I actually had butterflies this morning. I haven't been open since 24th December 2019! Anyway, welcome to my lovely store, and I hope to see you as soon as rules allow. Thank you for all the wonderful messages of good luck I have received over the last fews days. I am very touched. / 12 May 

TOOLS

Here’s a great article on the colour wheel. I find this tool immensely useful when I want to mix colours either in making my clothes, or knitting up sweater designs. Canva is also the most brilliant website for DIY graphic design. / 13 May 

PERFECTION

This is such perfection there’s not much to say, other than the hexagonal design here is created by making tiny and perfect pin tucks (I can’t even imagine how I would go about tackling that). Created by the queen of clothing design, Madeleine Vionnet. / 14 May 

NEW TECHNIQUES

My current knitting work in progress. This is one of the latest designs from one of my favourite knitwear designers, Tashashu Gordon. Her work is so inventive and stimulating. I’m not actually making the garment she does, but have applied her stitch design to one of my garment designs. You do need to be quite experienced to tackle her designs, but what an incentive to improve! You can see her designs here Svetlana Gordon/ 15 May

On dit souvent que le couturier Cristobal Balenciaga n'a pas utilisé la corsetterie pour créer ses vêtements dramatiques et sculpturaux. Afin d'en savoir plus sur la façon dont ses incroyables créations ont été construites, le musée Victoria & Albert à Londres a travaillé avec l'artiste radiologue Nick Veasey pour voir sous la surface de plusieurs robes et chapeaux emblématiques. À la fois magnifiques et médico-légales, les images radiographiques fantomatiques révèlent des détails fascinants qui ne sont pas visibles à l'œil nu - notamment les désossements, les cerceaux et les poids des robes qui déterminent la chute exacte du tissu. Deux des radiographies révèlent également des épingles de robe qui ont été accidentellement laissées à l'intérieur des ourlets par leurs fabricants d'origine./ 16 mai

POTENTIAL DANGERS OF CROCHETING OR KNITTING
In a press release today, the National Institute of Public Health has announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance found in CROCHET/KNITTING craft supplies. This substance has been linked with the following symptoms in humans:

Symptoms associated:
* Reluctance to cook
* Reluctance to perform housework
* Reluctance to work, except in support of Crocheting or knitting
* Physical craving for free time to stitch
* Nonsensical muttering of numbers
* Unwavering impulse to purchase hooks, needles, yarn and patterns

Beware. If you come in contact with a human affected by Crocheting or knitting then be prepared to talk about needles, yarn and patterns for hours on end even though no one has asked.
This has been a public service announcement.  Scientists who discovered the dangerous substance, said, "Crocheting and Knitting addiction is real. The purchasing of needles and yarn can be expensive, addictive, and may impair the ability to use common sense".
