A DIFFERENT KIND OF DESIGNER

I’ve always stood out. At 6'2" by the age of 18, I didn’t see myself reflected in fashion. I knew what I wanted to wear — but nothing in the shops ever fit or felt right. So I began creating my own clothes.

What started as necessity quietly became a signature: the beginning of the SMART brand. From the start, I’ve designed for women who don’t fit the mould — physically or creatively. For those who value individuality, quality, and the freedom to dress with intention.

A WIDER VISION
Over time, my work has grown beyond clothing. Today, I also curate a range of ethical jewellery and homeware — each piece selected for its originality, integrity, and beauty.

I collaborate with small-scale artisans and social enterprises in South Africa and Europe, celebrating traditional skills and sustainable materials. I sit with weavers, learn their techniques, share stories and blisters, and marvel at their precision — just as I once learned embroidery from my mother and grandmother.

This work is about more than me. It’s about them, too.
The hands behind the piece. The stories behind the thread.

The soul behind the shop.
