Jewellery Making for Creative Minds

Create stunning jewellery from upcycled materials with jewellery designer LAURA ZABO

Sunday 7 and Monday 8 June

Love bold, one-of-a-kind accessories? What if you could craft your own?

At Beverly Smart, we believe fashion should be as unique and conscious as you are. Imagine turning everyday waste into stunning, high-end jewellery—pieces that not only turn heads but also tell a story of sustainability and creativity.

Laura, one of our most innovative designers, has been creating with us since 2019. She’s the talent behind our best-selling collections: sleek recycled rubber jewellery, playful earrings made from Nespresso capsules and beer cans, and chic bangles crafted from juice cartons.

In these hands-on, one-day workshops, you’ll discover how to transform discarded materials into luxurious, fashion-forward accessories. Whether you’re drawn to edgy designs or timeless elegance, you’ll learn techniques to create jewellery that’s as eco-friendly as it is stylish.

Each workshop day focuses on different materials and methods, so you can join for one session or dive into both for the full experience. No prior skills are needed - just bring your creativity and a love for all things chic.

By the end of each workshop, you’ll leave with your own handmade masterpieces and the skills to keep creating. Join us and turn waste into wearable art!

THE 2026 WORKSHOPS

SUNDAY 7 JUNE

Avant-garde necklace workshop made from reclaimed bicycle inner tubes

This design has been my bestseller for over a decade, adored by hundreds of people around the world.

You’ll work with reclaimed bicycle inner tubes that I provide, already fully cleaned and ready to use. You can choose between black, green, or stunning metallic finishes - including peacock tones - which you will paint and customise according to your own style.

Together, we’ll cut hundreds of rubber tassels and assemble them into a beautifully structured, bold necklace.

The process is accessible to everyone and no previous experience is required. A strong hand is helpful, as you’ll be punching holes into each tassel.

By the end of the day, you’ll walk away wearing a striking statement necklace - and trust me, everyone will ask you about it.

The workshop will be taught in English.

Beginners and experienced.

MONDAY 8 JUNE

Everyday Materials, Extraordinary Jewellery

We’ll create cool earrings and bracelets using drink cartons, craft beer and soda cans and Nespresso pods.

You’ll be able to create large or small bracelets, depending on your style, choosing between circular or squared shapes. You’ll be surprised at how unique and expressive a bracelet can be when it’s made simply from drink cartons. This process completely transforms
an everyday material into something unexpected and special, and after this workshop, you’ll never look at (or throw away) your juice boxes in the same way again.

We’ll also create romantic butterfly earrings from craft beer cans. You’ll be amazed at how beautiful and individual each butterfly becomes, thanks to the rich colours, illustrations and textures of the cans themselves. Once you learn this technique, you may never buy birthday gifts again - these adorable earrings make truly unique,
handmade presents. 🦋

To finish the day, we’ll craft charming cascade earrings from Nespresso pods - a must-have for coffee lovers.

By the end of the day, you’ll start noticing how many everyday materials can be transformed into fashion in just an hour. Step into the world of sustainable jewellery design, and start wearing the things you once used and threw away.

This day is all about colour, movement, and transforming everyday packaging into eye-catching jewellery. You’ll leave with several unique pieces and a fresh perspective on upcycling.

The workshop will be taught in English.

Beginners and experienced.

About Laura

After the magic of my first workshops in Lagrasse last year, I couldn’t wait to return!

I’m thrilled to be back, sharing new techniques to upcycle everyday materials into bold, futuristic jewellery. Expect creativity, experimentation, and plenty of surprises along the way.

I’ve always been passionate about innovative, eco-friendly ideas, but my journey truly began 11 years ago when I moved to Africa. Inspired by the iconic tyre flip-flops, I started creating accessories from waste materials, determined to show the world that with creativity and style, anything can be reused. My mission is to show that upcycled items can match, or even outshine, high-street designs in both beauty and uniqueness. Today, I craft stunning eco-conscious jewellery using materials like bicycle tyres, inner tubes, paper juice boxes, Nespresso capsules, and drink cans.

Join my classes to learn simple yet transformative techniques for creating gorgeous jewellery from unexpected materials. Let’s turn waste into wearable art!

In one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, come and enjoy French hospitality, stunning scenery and local food and wine in the company of our expert recycled jewellery designer

LAURA ZABO

Tucked into the heart of the Corbières in southern France and bathed in sunshine for around 300 days a year, Lagrasse attracts an extraordinary variety of residents, complementing its salt-of-the-earth locals. It is a community of creators, with artists, potters and makers tucked away in its narrow, cobblestoned streets.

The tiny population of 500 people live in this medieval listed village surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, its backdrop dominated by an 8th century working Abbey and views of the distant Pyrenees. Situated in a valley surrounded by Mediterranean hillsides full of rosemary, thyme and cypress trees, the river Orbieu - in which one can swim - meanders through the village.

Lagrasse attracts thousands of visitors each year, some of whom never leave, falling in love with this picture postcard example of rural France and changing their lives to allow them to pursue their dream.

Cafes and restaurants are plentiful with all tastes and budgets catered for, from pizzas to Michelin Guide cuisine. Saturday morning is market day with organic and locally produced foods and wines.

So we urge you to stay a while longer and enjoy everything that this stunning corner of France that we call home has to offer.

The cost of each workshop is 110€.
